You can walk to the ships from the terminal. Not that depending on which deck the ship is boarding, you will likely have a considerable distance uphill walking up the gangway as you zigzag your way up, but there are elevators in the ramp that will allow you to avoid most of the uphill walk. Just remember this can add some time if a bunch of folks are queued up in the line for the elevator, since it only holds so many people and their baggage.
