My preference is White Salmon. Why? 1. Tourist may occasionally come across the bridge from Hood River, but it is more a home town community. 2. The views from White Salmon side are at a higher elevation, so in the right locations, you can see the whole gorge. 3. The city boasts a very active, up-to-date book library, which is particularly fun as the library staff invites school teachers and other guests to tell stories. For examples: this summer they had a delightful Star Wars event, wherein guests made paper airplanes and flew the different kinds through mazes; last night they had a special Halloween gathering - the children love them. They share a real community spirit. The city has an outdoor swimming pool in a fabulous 😍😻👍 setting, a large, very well-maintained city park. Ask about their lower level some time and I'll report on Bingen - the town down the hill from White Salmon.
It is freezing all over the NW. Better off in Tucson
White Salmon, the land where the sun and the rain meet. 20 miles east a desert, and to the west, a rainforest. As a direct descendant of one of the first pioneer families, it is true paradise. My favorites are Underwood WA, and Snowden areas. Definitely four seasons and the beautiful outdoors. I see my cousin Deana Pang has also Hey cuz! Snow soonbut welcome.
You can't beat Dufur ,Oregon love White Salmon Washington but Dufur has my vote
Here is another vote for Bingen (bin'-jen).
Dallesport or Lyle. They are both in Washington across from Oregon.
Tri-cities.
