The current Alamo is actually the 3rd one built. The tour guide explained that the first was a little ways down and the second was basically right across the street from the current one.

The Spanish found it. It was originally made by Roman Catholics, which they didn't name the building yet since they never completed it. The Spanish named it The Alamo.
