It is free but you need a permit. The reason why you can't get the camper in is because it's a narrow trail to get to the camp site as it is not next to the vehicle parking.
It is primitive camping area free..but no motor vehicle allowed and no way get camper in there. There are other RV resort and campgound allow them. Crystal isle camp.. Lake rouso camp and couple others around sandy oaks and quail roost might be closest to that park
