Number 1 guide. Read to bottom..This could be great place with couple more spots and maybe a portajon. It beautiful spot and unfortunately one only spot can camp still without paying bunch money and people everywhere. We need more like this in citrus county. Dont forget like my page please. Hope safe great year for all. Ps be careful sand fleas everywere out there right now. They will bump you up and itch days and you will not feel them bite.

Just finished a weekend here. Beautiful place. Far enough away from everyone that you have some privacy but, also enough foot traffic that you aren't totally alone out there. Camp site seemed to be decently maintained. Keep in mind that it is primitive so remember your water and shovel!

Decent parking lot, at the trail entrance there is a picnic table and a bulletin board with the entire list of rules for the area. The beginning trail is average size but leads to a larger trail the size of a one way dirt road, at this intersection there is a garbage can "it was over flowing on my visit". The trails are marked with yellow paint on the tree, it took me approximately 6 minutes to make it to the first river side campsite " I didn't have any camping gear just a camera" and approximately another 4 minutes down the trail to get to the second river side campsite. Each camp site had a picnic table "old tables, and wobbly but better than nothing" the second camp site had a fire ring. Both campsites were nice looking and you can have a line in the water while camping and cook your catch right at the campsite. This is as very easy hike if youβre looking for a quick primitive camping area.

Definitely not. There is a limestone parking lot and you hike a short distance to a campsite. Source: I'm one of the Eagle scouts that helped develop the site
No. It is completely primitive. No shower, bathroom, electric,or water. Just you and nature. There is a picnic table thats on its last leg.
There are two primary campsites one on the left fork and one on the right Fork they are both about equidistant from the entrance and it is a little bit of a walk but nothing even remotely serious to either of the campsites both are by the river the one on the left has a rope swing and a somewhat Rundown set of steps and the one on the right has more of a beach style gentle slope into the water with Cypress swamp ground further up shore. swimming is usually kept over on the left. On the left there is further Trail going along the Waterside to better fishing spot near the Riverbend
It is free but you need a permit. The reason why you can't get the camper in is because it's a narrow trail to get to the camp site as it is not next to the vehicle parking.
No fee, and unless I've misunderstood something, no reservation system. It just relies on courtesy among campers.
