The two programs don't necessarily go together. Getting into Section 8 means that you're on a PHA waiting list, your name has reached the top of that list, you've been determined eligible and issued a voucher. That whole process takes years depending on which Section 8 program you're talking about. Most PHAs keep their Section 8 waiting lists closed and only open them up when they need to add new applicants to their waiting lists. Hope this helps!
It depends because section 8 has a very long waiting list. I personally waited two years to get section 8. If you are on section 8 the best way to get a hold of your housing specialist which goes by the first letter in your last name. Is by email.
