I don't work there so I don't know all the details. However they have no cost adoptions on occasion throughout the year. Also at the end of every month the last Saturday's are low cost vaccinations. And I don't mean to get into your business however pets can be expensive so if you're strapped for cash for a bit adopting an animal may not be a good choice at the moment. Take it from somebody who has four and it's almost as expensive as children
IRVING ANIMAL SHELTER HAS LOW COST FOR HEART WORM POSITIVE DOGS. JUST GIVE THEM MONTHLY PILLS/VETERINARIANS. THE OTHER TREATMENT IS ARSENIC-TO DANGEROUS. WORMS WILL DIE EVENTUALLY WITH MONTHLY PILLS.
Both my adoptions cost $100. If this is to high cost than you may consider a non cat/dog pet as either of those will cost atleast 100 a month woth vet visits, food, toys, and other needed items. Additionally as a renter they will often charge atleast 250 for deposits, and will almost guarantee that you do not get your deposit back.
