It depends on the show. Some shows have seating and some are standing only. At the very least you can get a drink and stake out a spot up front before the general public gets in
We went a show and paid the higher admission. We got to stand closer to the front. The venue was SRO
You can get a drink before show. Those who pay more have seating , the rest will stand. It's so worth paying extra to sit during show.
