My girlfriend used to work there... from the stories she told me, I would NEVER put a family member here. They are neglectful, rude, and the CNA’s are overworked. She was left on halls alone and wasn’t even certified yet, which I’m pretty sure is illegal. She would come home in tears because of how awful the residents were treated and also how awful the nurses treated her. They were incredibly rude. Do NOT PUT YOUR FAMILY HERE. IT NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN
Yes they have new staff and a lot of the building has been redone, my brother eas there over a month, hr just loved the staff, they were so good to him. I was very impressed. There were a few times he put on call light and all of them were busy but that didnt happen very often. They had pretty good food. They actually loved and took care of him like he was family. My brother cried when he left because he was going to miss them. I would have no problem if he had to go again, putting him back there.
My mother has been here for two and a half months. She was entered in the rehabilitation part and she very sadly had to move to the memory unit which is their lockdown unit. I was not very impressed with her care when she was in the rehab part. I feel they are doing an excellent job in the memory care lock down unit. She says they are doing a good job of taking care of her. She says she likes most of the food they're serving. They are very prompt and on time with the meals. They also have snacks for them anytime they request. They do give them beverages except for sodas whenever they request. They do use temp help as do all of the nursing care facilities in our area as they all have a staffing problem. I must say that some of the temp help are pretty lazy and they could perform better. So far my mom has had excellent care and she is always clean. I feel personally that this facility could improve in some areas. They are open to suggestion.
It was much better when it was Mercy Villa. My sister has been there almost 3 years. They have some excellent staff but they are underpaid and overworked. They use a lot of temp staff because they are always short on help. The new owners did spend a ton of money on artwork and furniture to make the first thing you see look great to potential residents' family.
