No he can't if im mistaking its has to be a 5 day notice follow by a 30 day notice and its not like ur behind in rent just late but u can always follow up with a tenant right lawyer and if ur in Chicago Charles drennan is a good lawyer
I live in a building where my downstairs neighbors fight all the time and smoke weed; sometimes I'm awakened in the night by the smell. The lease says no drugs on the premises and no disturbing neighbors. Since my move in (November) I have contacted the property manage countless times, and they have never enforced their lease. I had to call the police last night because of the fighting at 1am. I am constantly robbed of sleep and a peaceful environment.....what are my rights?

My landlord is selling the building but has yet to tell me. He just calls and ask if I’m home for a viewing. The bottom apt is empty so I was confused as to why he wanted to show my place. In February he had appraisers come in, but told me he was refinancing. I done my own research to find that the building is for sale on sites such as Redfin and Zillow. He says he owns the building but Home Buyers Realty has the building listed for sale. He says it’s in his construction company’s name, however the site list it as being owned by the bank I’m current on my rent up to this month. I don’t wanna give him rent and then have to move, I have 3 children one being 3 months. One viewing was discussing the property and was talking about how her sister was taking the top floor, this is the unit I stay in I’m like I stay here. It’s a lot going and I’m so confused and scared.
