Go online make an appointment choose a time and date is convenient for you bring your license in there I'm pretty sure they'll give you a replacement. Just check online read the literature from the DMV
I think most offices see people previous phone or online appointment only. I know license renewals can be done completely online.
From what I gather you can do either or but I would make sure my signature was on the application.
