It depends if there is any activity going on, it is a beautiful house, the guide tells you the history of the house and then you walk around by yourself and take pictures, you can do evp, use your ghost detector if you have one, you can also spend the night there you have to book it and it is not free but I think if your looking for scary that would be the way to go, it is one if the biggest mysteries in the U.S and people from all over come to Iowa to see this house, worth a visit I have been there twice and will go back.
If you let your imagination take you back to that night in 1912, it will give you the willy's.
Just seemed scary to our group because it was an old house with no electricity. Im sure if more activity had been going on it might have been a little more eerie. For our group it was fun because we all got together and had fun. It didnt seem worth what we paid to stay though.
There is definitely an air about the place
