Is the ronkonkoma train easy to find in penn station? Do i have to get my ticket from a machine or is there a person?

Either buy the tickets in person, ticket machines and app.

Lirr departure track are clearly marked. Ronkonkoma line is purple. There are about a dozen ticket machines around and there are ticket windows with humans. You can also buy tickets through a phone app.

You have an option to get your ticket from a automated machine, or a ticket booth operated by a live person, also, there is a board with all departures located in Penn Station that will tell you which LIRR line to board, but if you are confused or have any questions i would suggest getting your tickets at the live person operated ticket booth and asking them where to board.
