ACTUALLY... you can transfer the plate from one vehicle to another for $5.00. If the plate is ready to renew, you can transfer AND renew for $20. Its only $20 if you pay $20 each year NOT If you pay taxes on it each year.
tags are vehicle specific so no switching allowed . you should remove it from the wrecked car and get a new one for a new vehicle.
