Attempted to purchase tag decal online. I scanned the QR code and began filling out the form. When I was close to finishing I was stopped by the phone number line because it only let me enter the first 3 digits of my cell number. I could not continue because an error message highlighted that particular line. I reloaded the form but the same thing happened again. I gave up and mailed the forms. I attempted to call the Tax Commissioner's office several times to give them a heads up but no one answered the phone. Ordering tags online is a nice and convenient only when it works.

I would give zero stars, but we all know that’s not an option. Newton Co Tax Commissioners office is absolutely zero help. I moved to FL, so I had to switch my license from GA to Fl. To do so I had to have car insurance in FL to get a FL license. At that time I tried to register my vehicle in FL, but had to wait because I had to request my title from GA. It takes 19-days on the GA side and 16-days on the FL side. I received a notice that my GA registration is being cancelled because I don’t have GA car insurance. I called and the lady answered the phone using the wrong name of the business and corrected herself (which is fine everyone makes mistakes now and then), but then she knew absolutely nothing about what I was asking about. She provided me with zero information on how to actually resolve the issue. Her advice is just to cancel the tag… so I guess I can walk while I wait on the state of GA to release my title and I have to pay a fine for not having insurance (when I do have insurance, it’s just in FL). I am not the first person to move from one state to another, they should know how to assist in this situation. Beyond disappointed, this is not acceptable and yet nothing will be done.

This place lost the title to my son's motorcycle and now he can't get the tag for it or his truck. The lady that sold him the first tag said he walked out with the title which is not true, she stapled it to a pile of paperwork from him. 23 years of getting tags here and this is the first screw up on their part.
