Sims will remove the refrigerant themselves. Just take it there whole. Transfer station can't accept refrig. Window ac etc.
I would imagine you would need to have documentation that the refrigerant was removed. Why not take it to Sims brothers and recycle it, though? I think you would still need documentation that the refrigerant was removed (although may depend on the type of refrigerant), but instead of paying to get rid of it you would get paid (a little).
