Good yard driver's.

I called this morning (Friday 9-29) in hopes of possibly getting topsoil delivered tomorrow. Even better, they delivered today!!! I ordered the premium blend and although 7 cu ft looks less than expected, the topsoil looks beautiful and my plants will LOVE it! I'm now looking forward to the yard work that I hate doing! By the way, the driver was very friendly. I liked him a lot! It had been a few years since that review. I ordered premium topsoil from them this year, but the soil was not good! I emailed them about it, because I wondered if it there was a mistake, maybe they loaded my soil from the wrong area. They told me no and gave me percentages of clay, etc that’s in their premium soil. Well, none of my plants, mostly tomato and cherry tomato plants (that I plant in pots) did well. The peppers and other plants in the raised bed are hanging in there, but take effort. The soil is so hard the water sits on top and doesn’t want to soak in. I would try to loosen the soil, but had to use a shovel to do so because it was that hard. I finally tried to change the soil in the pots using bagged topsoil, but I think it was too late. It was like hard clay or play dough or similar. I broke off some of that hard soil to get to the roots. It appears the roots had a hard time growing through that soil. One of my pots had that hard play dough soil clogging the drain holes. I will be changing out my topsoil in my beds and pots again next year, and will get it elsewhere. I am very surprised how I can go from extremely happy one time, to completely disappointed, with $100’s wasted, the next time. Therefore, I changed my 5 star rating to a 3. I figured that’s the equivalent of a 5 and a 1.

Great place to help recycle yard waste and tree trimmings.

I bought a bunch of soil, mulch, and river rock this year! I had not bought from them in the past but I will every year! the products are great and the pricing is very good! Plus they have the smaller buckets to load directly in the back of a 6 foot pickup tuck bed with ease. I have never spent more than 5 minutes being loaded up even on my 1st couple trips when I had no idea how their system worked yet.

Do you have compost that is free of weed killer chemicals and what would be the price per cubit yard ?

James Conley | Oct 8, 2019
Price Farms Organics | Oct 8, 2019

Hi James! We don’t add any type of weed killing chemicals to any of our composts. The temperatures reached during the composting process renders the weed seed sterile. Prices per cubic yard range from $28.00 to $40.00 with our Zoo Brew Compost at $28.00 / yard being our most popular. We do accept yard trimmings from the public such as grass and leaves which is a component of our composts. If your question pertains to those materials potentially having been treated with chemicals prior to the composting process, then, possibly, yes. Please let me know if you have any further questions or if you’d like to speak in person. Thank you for your inquiry!
