No matter how you choose to call your status in US - green card or permanent resident, the point is - having permanent residency( green card lol, just pleasing folks who think that makes any diferentce ) it does not give you any advantage on obtaining visa, if you happen to need one. Call an embassy or consulate department in US ( or the country you are curwntly residing, no need for international calls) and ask what if any documents you need to visit UK or any country of your choice. Also, most importantly - how LONG does it take to obtain VISA, if you happen to need it. There is nothing worse than paying for plane tickets/ hotels, just to find out your travel documents are not in place by the time you are ready to depart. Smalll, but also thing to consider, how much visa cost ( and for how long). Most places cost under $100 US for about 3 month... But there are exclusions ( like US, that can give you as little as 30 days to leave the coun
