Your housing authority can add you to the list of available properties as they become available. I was given a list of their complexes and then signed up for the ones I liked. You will be put on a waiting list. It took me 5 years and I was disabled as well as low income. It's not that easy to have someone live with you. If this was the case everyone's friends or family would be there. It's for couples and singles only. I had to get a doctor's order to have my daughter move in until I was much better after a stroke.
I believe section 8 does. If your on section 8 just look up the listings they have or even the listing gave like your kind for sometimes. Just go to the app.
