It’s not like you’re charged for how long you sit on the road. Maybe you should leave earlier? Your schedule isn’t a concern of the NTTA.
Texas highways are poorly designed to start with. Where I come from there are exits and entrances at every overpass on both sides of said overpass, none of this limited space side road merging and exiting. The left lanes are for passing only while here you'll need to drive in those lanes to merge into other freeways and pass on the right, which blocks people that need to exit on the right. Texas highways are set up for congestion and failure, hence this money grab which isn't much better.
Moved to Dallas in 1984, never will forget the manager I worked for telling a fellow worker, who showed up late all the time. " I don't care if you have to get up at 3am you need to be here at 8." hummm
It will never be free. They are using the money to lengthen it and build more tollways....and for maintenance.
It’s pathetic because there is always traffic on the same roadway. No matter if I leave 30 to 1 hour early. People just don’t know how to freakin drive. They are idiots, they look at their phones, eating, putting make up. I hate paying to sit in traffic . I thank God that the toll way will be paid off soon and the roads will be free again
