If you want to fish in the lake, getting a boat is the best way
For bass and catfish and other lake-dwelling fish, best bet is to use a boat to get out onto the water. If lake fishing isnt your thing, there's access to the river on the west side of the park near the paddleboard rental. The river has a small trail that leads into the wooded area with access to some really nice spots. There's bound to be a few fly fishermen out there that would be willing to give you a few extra tips

I M not a big fisherman but I know a man had a fishing boat waiting to get onto Chatfield lake the day it opened he was going fishing. I seen them fishing from the east side off land where the RVs park to camp in sorry I don't know
