You cannot buy a camping permit at King Soopers. That information is incorrect! You can get a camping permit daily at the campground at the entrance, or at the campground office.
Is there a limit on how long you can stay?
You can reserve a camping site online or by calling. However must be three or more days in advance. Otherwise within three days all sites become walkin booking only. There's not normally staff, just follow the signs to Camp Registration, fill out the form, enclose cash or check, drop in box and go to available site. There's a clipboard that will show which are still available. Note you must also pay the $8 park pass fee at main gate. Just like camp, it's self service, fill out form, enclose cash and drop in box. Remember to keep your copy of both the park pass and camping permit to put in window.
There is an office upon arrival. Stop in there. Call ahead to make sure they have availability.
You can pay daily or buy a yearly pass for all state parks in Colorado. You can buy it at king's sooper.
Sites are reserved on-line... You also have to pay a per-day fee when you arrive.
Pull up to the gate during operation hours.
Possibly you could drive up and order one, but I feel like calling the service would be much better help.
