I wouldn't recommend it, do not try to go to the top of the falls, there have been several injuries

However, you are in for a local treat ShaQuana Gary. Directly beyond the parking area is the small pre adventure into the main C Jones Gap Park grounds. After the initial wood bridge and the next step up...go down into the river right beside the tall wooden display kiosk. Deep, cold, refreshing natural swimming hole. I do not suggest however I do jump off the big rock (just not straight in like a goon) feel it out first and always keep safety as your primary concern. Nature is very real.

Its pretty rocky and not big enough to do that (no pool). Someone could easily get hurt.

No. Go to dupont if you want that. Much easier and safer.

You wouldn't want kids to play in the actual waterfall. The pressure is way too high and there's a high risk of falling.

The hike up to Rainbow Falls is a red line hike... a little rough for kids (in my opinion) but there's some lower areas that are flat that hikers and kids play in.
