I have accidentally let my Nevada state ID card expire, do I have to have my social security card and birth certificate to obtain another one! Or am I in the system already and can just go pick one up for a fee?

There are two ID cards that you can get. The basic one can just be renewed with a small fee, without two proofs of identity. The second one has a little star on it and that one you will have to have two proofs of identification. Everybody has to have the new license / ID card with the star on it by 2020 but you can get a regular one without the star before then and just change it before 20/20

This often happens to most of us. No need to worry. If you already had a state ID previously issued all you have to do is go down there and renew it. They might ask if you would like to upgrade to a new photo and they might ask for a proof of current address if different from the old one. Plus the following fee. Good luck
