You can buy a booster from Amazon to add to your Wifi. Took us from 0 bars to 4 bars. Amazing. Works great. Verizon will do it too. Just more costly.
Verizon seems to be one of the best carriers in the mountains, however, there is always spotty coverage. Connecting through your cable internet, if you have it, works the best for me.
I use WIFI for my Verizon phone. I have a weak signal at home. I get WIFI from Charter, it's part of a package deal with my cable TV. I don't know if Verizon can give you a booster for your signal
