You can have him transported to an urgent psychiatric care facility by the police and have a petition filled out stating what your concerns are and his inability to care for himself and his harm to self or others. He will then be admitted somewhere, hopefully.
Call adult protection service and request for inpatient facility.
My son becomes paranoid. The crisis team has been very helpful they are social workers that come out to him as long as he isn't violent. They helped my son in placement and explanation of where they are going.
Unless he’s threatening you, I wouldn’t go straight to an involuntary petition. That process feels horrible for both parties and it should be a last resort, especially with paranoia about the police. I do agree with two of the other pieces of advice. One, calling adult protective services is certainly an option. The other option, which may be better, is to call crisis when he’s with you and worked up about something, when he’s positively episodic. They will come to you and provide you with all of the resources both you and he need.
Do a 51/ 50
You can take him to UPC or any emergency room.
