Is this where you go to have your taxes reduced due to exemptions that can be claimed?

This is for county property taxes and vehicle registration, not the IRS. If you are referring to home or land taxes, I believe this is the place.

You must apply fir your exemptions with the County Appraisal District. They are responsible for getting information to the Tax Assessor office. You have to occupy the property on Jan 1st of the year you want exemption. Also not all tax entities recognize tax exemptions. So check with your local Appraisal district.
