They usually ask for id & proof of address because they help certain zip codes at certain locations so see if the person you are staying with can come with you so they can use their information. If not try the freestore foodbank.

I believe you have to be in a certain radius for them to help but they do have resources to where you can get help. Its good to go early. Good luck!
