Hi, the Art Institute offers audio guides on site and also through the museum’s free official app. “The Verbal Description Tour: The Essentials” is designed specifically for visually impaired visitors. Visitors can enjoy the Elizabeth Morse Touch Gallery and we are also pleased to offer TacTile Kits, providing a fresh approach to experiencing art for visitors with low vision. In addition, the Art Institute offers free guided museum tours with sighted guides. Tours must be arranged in advance. To learn more, visit the “Accessibility” page on the Art Institute’s website. As for other accommodations, the museum is fully equipped with ramps and elevators and we also offer manually operated wheelchairs free of charge at both of the museum entrance checkrooms (Michigan Avenue and Monroe Street). Wheelchairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis and may not be reserved in advance. Let us know if you have any questions!
