Right now a bankruptcy must be closed for a year or it is an automatic denial.
Assuming that it depends on their policy and other factors (ie: debt to income ratio, rental history, credit, etc). A bankruptcy kills credit scores and stays on for 10 years. Friendly suggestion: hire a credit repair service to see if that can be removed earlier and help build up your credit score as well. Also you can try to get a cosigner that has good credit who will vouch for you and are willing to pay if you default on pmts. Good luck!
