Why is it closed on Sunday when everything else at temple square and the family history center is open? It used to be open on Sundays with only the store inside being closed on Sunday.

I imagine it's to give all the service missionaries and staff the day to go to church and honor the sabbath. The Church History Library, Family History Library, FamilySearch Center, Church Office Building, Church History Museum and the Joseph Smith Memorial Building are all closed on Sunday.

Not sure, but the Family History Library is also closed Sundays. The Conference Center & Visitors Centers seem to be the only sites open Sunday.

I would say because they sell things. I dont believe that any place else that has sells that is affiliated with the church at temple square is open on Sunday.

I wish I knew. Maybe ask them the next time you're there.
