My envelope needed a single piece of tape to close and ship. I was told they cannot supply it for me and I’d have to go find tape to close it even though they had multiple opened rolls behind the counter. Pettiness is unmatched.

Not sure why. That is a rule that if the box is on the street and if the flag is up, it should be picked up even if you didn't have mail for that day. If your box is on the house, it wont be picked up if you did not have mail. I would call the station manager for Holladay. His name is Darin.
Yes. I am an employee. The post office will be closed and no mail delivery. Only Amazon parcels will be delivered.
You can fill out a change of address online or at any post office. Make sure you mark the section that says, "Is this temporary? ". Then fill out your return date
