Best use the subway to the spectacular Oculus station or Fulton Center which is linked underground by passageways and a mall. Exit on the Western side and it's basically across the street

We drove to Staten Island and took the free ferry to Battery Park. It was a nice ride and the price was right! We then walked around Battery Park and saw those sites and walked to 911 Memorial. The walk took about 10-15 minutes but wasn't bad.
