I didnt go to the actual park but the factory. You had a tour via a car you ride in to see how candy was made. It was fun. Then of course picture book with us in it. Which you buy. Checkout Hershey Gardens. They have a nice indoor live butterfly exhibit . The gardens are magnificent. Located near the Hershey Hotel.
Yes Hershey works, just outside of the park has tours, chocolate tasting, crate you own chocolate bars, and a 4D show.
There are shows and other things to do besides rides. You just have to check the times when you get in. There is a train and a monorail that go around the park as well. The Kissing tower is nice to escape hot days it has AC. It goes up and makes about 3 rotations and comes back down, this is not a thrill ride, it gently goes up and gently comes back down.
