My father in law, Robert D. King, served on the Intrepid during World War Ii. He was a gunner’s mate in Tub 10. The gunner was a man they called Papoose. Papose was killed when the ship was attacked. Do you know anything about him?

Plenty of veterans onboard. I'd recommend going and talking to them. Maybe email the museum to see if they can help you.
