I'm older and tend to meander. I totally get into the interactive exhibits. I recommend a minimum of 90 minutes.

There are usually 3-4 exhibits open at a time. An hour may be enough, or you might need two, depending on how you like to view art.

We saw the entire museum in an hour. The galleries aren't jam packed w exhibits. The museum also contains giant sculpture pieces that take up huge amounts of space. The above listing is for The Museum of African Art, not the new Museum of African American History & Culture. The History and Culture Museum is much, much larger than the Museum of African Art.
