When we first moved in, the heater went out after it's first use. Pathlight said instead of replacing it, that we'll wait about a week for a part to arrive. Any help with rent? Or heaters? Or a hotel? No. Their rep told me that HE checked the weather and we would be fine. It was 26 degrees the next few nights. Had to put my mother-in-law and kids in a hotel while my wife and I stayed behind every night to ensure the pipes didn't freeze. Lost sleep, we all got sick that week. Failure to provide warranty of habitability is the definition of a slum lord. These days I'm trying to get them to reverse charges for a service call that never happened. Over $200 for something they can't show me any proof of. This is sleazy business.

We've been renting through Pathlight for a year and a half and it's been a non-stop struggle to get any kind of response from anyone. I've had to have my lawyer contact them to get anything done. Stay FAR FAR FAR away from any home managed by Pathlight. They are atrocious and absolutely deserve the low ratings they have here and on Yelp.

Yes, they're slumlords. File BBB and TREC complaints! It's the only way to send them back to Chicago! The company buys a foreclosure, makes it barely habitable, and then rents it at a premium. Then when something breaks they refuse to repair it. If you call them out on it, you start getting mysterious charges and they stop returning phone calls. *For example, they charged us for sending a repairman out, BUT THEY NEVER EVEN CALLED TO SCHEDULE! LMAO! It's absolutely astonishing.

Lol. I had heard that too. Their website BAD, but their sevice reps are good. When i requested service for my dishwasher, it came, too. Good experience here. Probably shouldnt have got my full deposit back, but I did!

We have been waiting over six months for them to fix a major HOA violation, and the only way it has even gotten to the point it has is because I have taken many hours of my own time to do their jobs for them. I’ve currently been on hold for almost two hours to talk to someone about my autopay not coming out and being charged a $200 late fee.

They've been pretty good to us. Emergencies are treated like emergencies and service calls are same day. Not always 100% impressed with the service providers as they basically throw the jobs up for grabs at the price they are willing to pay for the repair. But, they replaced our refrigerator, hot water tank, and Air-conditioner in a timely fashion with no hassles. We went beyond our 5 year deal and they were helpful and fair.
