I bought a car on 5 mile from a young man in garland Tx. He said he would start title transfer but couldn't bc if government shut down. Now he won't return my calls. What will I need to file for lost title?

The young man needs to be tracked down, if he has the title he needs to sign the back transferring the ownership to you. If he has a loan on the car while your with him you need to contact the loan department of the financial institution and get them to release the title to you. The bank is going to want the loan payed off before they do that... So hopefully what you payed is equal to or greater than what the young man owes the bank. Normally you would pay the bank directly and they would have the young man sign and you sign papers of transfer title.

You need to call them...if the car isn't your vehicle, how can you file for a lost title, sounds like it's still his car and your money in his pocket
