How much luggage can I take on the train. I know Have to extra. I am handicapped and will need help boarding the train and then boarding the one that goes to Austin Texas. Will there be somebody to help transfer my luggage to my compartment?

2 free checked baggage 2 carry on. Your attendant should be able to help with the carry ons. The checked baggage will automatically be transferred from the Coast Starlight to the Texas Eagle. That is assuming you are taking the coast starlight from SLO. I'm not as familiar with the Pacific Surfliners. Also if you need to check in more than the 2 bags, you can check 2 more at $20.00 each. So you can theoretically take up to 6 bags for $40.00 or 4 bags at no cost.
