Yes there are plenty of places that are close to go to and they have safe and accessible spots on the residence like pools and hiking.

Swimming and hiking.
Too hot to be outside, but you can probably get a really good rate right now.
Most definitely! Rooster's Cogsburn Ostrich Ranch is real fun is between Phoenix and Tucson. Tons of places to walk, swimming and check out ALL the natural history areas!
There is a swimming pool at the resort and hiking trails. The Arizana Mills mall is only a short distance away on Baseline Rd and the 10 Freeway, with several different activities for children that age including Sea Life Center, Legoland discovery center, Harkins and an IMax movie theater. They also have a rainforest cafe that is fun to eat at. If you want to go to a fun barbecue restaurant there is Rustlets Rooste that has a live bull in front, a dancefloor with live entertainment and a slide you can take to get to your table. The view is incredible and the food is good. They serve cotton candy after your meal. We almost always visit when we are in town. The ages of our children in our group range from 2 to 27 and everyone in the group always enjoys the atmosphere!
