The others have posted good info about the cost of both types of membership. I would only add that you can earn 2% on your purchases with the executive membership. If you obtain the Citi card for Costco, you can earn even more and it's separate from what you get from Costco. I got 2 checks last year!

It's $120 for Executive and $55 for base.

Or $120 for any Executive Membership card. This card gives you money back at the end of the year depending on how much you spent during the year. We usually get about $100 back.
