Oct 31 several trees with multiple clusters

Last weekend (October 23) we could see several clusters and a few individuals flying about. Worth the trip. Binoculars help but absolutely not a must.

Over 8000 and more coming to overwinter. Lots of clusters, easily visible without binoculars.

I agree on binoculars. Last weekend they were mostly in one tree opposite the gift shop on the loop path. It was also foggy so they were still in the tree. I understand it's just the beginning of their time in Pismo so it could still be early for viewing. It was my whole reason for heading to the coast so any butterflies were a win for me!
