Yes, he will. I just went through this a couple of weeks ago with Hertz. I first handed the lady my husband's credit card because we accidentally switched cards and we wanted to use that card in particular for reward points, but I couldn't use it to rent the car because my name wasn't on the card. I had to give them a card in my name to rent the card. Since your son doesn't have a card, I would suggest you need to go with him to rent the car and list him as a driver.
