Update 7/13/22: After the GM Tony told me on 7/5/22 "Will put check request in and will process at corp.. Please allow processing and mail time of 1-2 weeks approximately." , on 7/11/22 he sends me an email with a "Release of Claims" contract (supposedly just for the refrigerator). Looked harmless at first but on second look had two clauses that had nothing to do with replacing my damaged refrigerator. See below: 3. Subsequently-Discovered Claims Also Released: There is a risk that the Buyer will later discover claims which were unknown at the time this Release was executed. To the extent permitted by law, this Release applies to any undiscovered claims. The way I interpret this clause is that I cannot claim anything else that I find defective in the home. Again what does this have to do with my damaged refrigerator? 8. Non-disparagement: By signing this Release and accepting the money described herein, the Buyer also agrees to not make or assist in making ANY negative public statements regarding CMH, the manufacturer of the Home, or any of their respective affiliates, employees, contractors, and other representatives. This clause is not limited to statements about this Release or the Customer Concern – it prohibits ALL negative statements. By way of example and not limitation, You are agreeing that you will not make any negative statements about CMH on social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Google Reviews, and other public platforms. This one speaks for itself. Apparently CH does not want me to say anything about my lie filled experience with them. Obviously I did not sign the agreement and I am still waiting on my refrigerator or the check to replace it myself. Update 7/11/22: Clayton homes C/S please contact Tony at North Charleston. He can supply you with my email. Stay tuned as I still do not have my promised refrigerator replacement... Original Post: Lost count of the lies. Home sustained roof damage during move. (Lie #1) Project Manager Dave said repair was made. Checked and discovered it had not been. (Lie #2) Finally got to see the inside of the home after it was delivered and set up with Dave (They keep your keys until the give you a hokey "Welcome Home" presentation). Pointed out damaged to refrigerator. Dave promised prompt replacement. It was not. Spoke to the General Manager Tony and told him I would not deal with Dave due to his repeated lies. Tony said he would be my new contact. Repeatedly asked Tony about the status of my new refrigerator over the course of a month and was met with lie after lie. It was on order. He was awaiting corporate approval....etc. I stopped by to pick up my title last week and Tony met me outside. I asked him about the refrigerator again. This time he said that he could not be sure that I didn't damage it and he was done trying to help me. Clayton policy requires full payment before the home is delivered so you have no recourse other that arbitration if there is a problem (have to agree not to sue them on contract). I was a cash buyer so it couldn't have been easier for them. If you like to be lied to and falsely accused of damaging your own property this is the place for you!

I bought a brand new mobile home, that was made by Clayton and the work that was done has to be the worst I have ever seen. The trim around the doors started popping off the first day I moved in. Some trim was not even installed. The bathtub and sink stoppers do not work, therefore leaving my bathtub inoperable for taking baths. The appliances are the cheapest that I have ever run across, specifically the refrigerator/freezer. Refrigerator is ok at best, the freezer does not freeze AT ALL..... The hoses under the sink that connect to the dishwasher, were not installed correctly, nor was the line running to the sink. Let's move on to the vents. I pulled one up in the living room, and there was saw dust packed in the bottom of it, along with a cigarette butt. Moving on to the electrical that was done, specifically to the stove, and the air conditioner. Neither were wired for the voltage it needed to be. Outside light fixture doesn't work, and I could keep going with other trivial things but I think you get the picture. This home was purchased through YES Communities who purchased it through CLAYTON. I could understand if the home was used, but it wasn't. I'm the only one who has lived there, and again. It is a 2022.
