Does it really open at 8am, or can one go hiking before like at 6am? Central Park for example "closes" from 1am to 6am each day. So wondering for this state park in NJ.

Good question, I wasn't aware they actually had posted hours. If you want to go earlier than 8 AM I would suggest calling the Essex County Park Police and seeing if that would be a problem.

If you're hiking the trails they're open! If I ever you're walking the pave path around the reservation itself your best to call!
