I struggled with whether to write this or not, but I’ve been such a loyal customer for years and I think I will have to drive the extra 10 mins to Blick. Getting the pleasantries out of the way first - I feel like a kid in a candy shop here. They amount of products they hold in the space they have is incredible. There are so few mom and pop art stores left and this is a good one — if you simply judge it by the merchandise. However, on a recent visit, I witnessed the owners (the man and woman owners) screaming and belittling their staff. Having worked for bosses in the past who acted like this, I was immediately triggered. The staff itself seem eager to help but they are clearly walking on eggshells. It was so inappropriate and off putting. The owner flat out berated a customer and proceeded to make her feel so small and then huff and puff, implying she wasn’t very smart. I was SHOCKED. I had never seen this before, or maybe I never noticed but it was enough in my short trip to feel a certain type of way about supporting this local business. The owners act as if you are an inconvenience and that is no way to run a business. Very sad day for me to witness this.

Nice selection of items. Check out seems to get slower with every visit. At some point while I waited several minutes there were 3 employees behind the counter, one eventually rang me up at his leisure. If the lady with the blue hair has time to follow me around the store perhaps she can make time to ring me up while she's at it.

Come on in and see us which sincerely a throwback one of the last best start lot supply stores left on the East Coast. By the way we also carry many of the mediums.

If I'm understanding your question correctly, the answer is yes, they do have thick clear cellophane, (also thick clear acetate) , and yes, they have black mat board, along with alot of other colors! This is an awesome little store where you'll find pretty much anything you're looking for!
