Hi John - you can find out more about the summit here: https://www.aging.pa.gov/Pages/LGBTQ-Aging-Summit.aspx In addition, we've distributed two statewide press releases. They can be found at the following locations: https://www.media.pa.gov/pages/aging_details.aspx?newsid=205 https://www.media.pa.gov/Pages/Aging_details.aspx?newsid=210
Thank you but I am talking about the universe of elder LGBTQ individuals throughout PA. who don't access the internet or don't connect with a local LGBT center (if they live near one) and I don't think a lot of people look at the Dept of Aging's web page on a regular basis for events. I've talked with friends in Pgh.,Phila., Erie,Hbg.,& Scranton who have not heard or read anything about this summit. I learned of it from a friend on Gov Wolf's new LGBT Council who suggested saving the date and the local LGBT Center's email blitz. Maybe the DOA press office should do an 11th hour press release - especially to TV & radio stations.
