I agree with Brett and Vanessa's answer
Central Park is certainly a "park". It is made up of fields, woods, lakes and streams, crisscrosssed by trails and roads. There are historic sites embedded in the park as well as a few buildings, and more. You can explore it for days on end.
Okay. If you are asking if Central Park, as a whole, is just on it's way to being developed into something like Disneyland, then the answer is no, never. It will always be updated and yelled and changed, but there are no plans to convert the whole thing, or even a good section of it, into an "amusement park". If you are asking if you can go there and be amused and entertained and go for leisure activities then yes. There's always something going on at the park.
