Park at a rail station.... lot easier.. cheaper.. driving in NYC Shouldn't be on anyone's bucket list
The best option its to use public transportation! Parking garage its way too expensive and its hard to find parking around the area!

If u don't go early you're not going to find a parking space By The Park you'll be able to park on the street but be prepared for the long walk from your car to the park

I usually park in NJ or CT at a rail station and take the train in. I then take subway to the park and to other destinations, or I walk. I would not suggest bringing a car into the city.
