do we have to board the ferry to the statue of liberty from New York site or New Jersey site?

You can board from either site but have to buy your tickets to reflect that.

Either side if you are driving into the city to see the statue its better to park at liberty state park as traffic in the city could take hrs to navigate then you can ferry to statue with tickets from there and also you can buy ferry tickets to NY for $7 pp and parking at liberty state park is about $7 compared to the city that us cheap 😁
